| Balmashie is located two and a half miles from the historic town of St
Andrews, which along with the castle, cathedral and university is of course
famous the world over for being the Home of Golf.
We are some 600 yards on the seaward side off the main St
Andrews to Crail road. Access is down our own private road thus giving the
site a select, quiet and safe location. Balmashie is surrounded by the Torrance and Devlin golf
courses, of the Fairmont, St Andrews Resort. The outlook from Balmashie to the east is breathtaking over the fourth green of the Devlin to the
North Sea beyond the headlland at Boarhills. The seascape is so vast that the
earth's curvature on the horizon is clearly visible. The Bell Rock
lighthouse can be seen on the horizon in daylight and more obviously during the
hours of darkness.

Looking out to the north coastline of Scotland rolls on from Carnoustie through Monifieth and on to Arbroath. Again at night the town
lights give a superb view.
The site is also blessed with many mature trees. wonderful wild life
abounds both of our site and in the land surrounding us. You can, if you
are fortunate, see deer, hares, stoats, hawks, skylarks and many other different
varieties of birds

We have a total of 10 cottages 9 of which are built in a courtyard setting. The stone and harled walls and the slate and pantiled roofs give the buildings a look and
feel of the dwellings 100 years ago in the East Neuk of Fife but with all
the advantages of modern construction. Well insulated roofs, walls and
floors, double glazing, full central heating. etc. makes a very comfortable
stay. Indoors very comfortable furniture is complemented by tasteful
design, layouts and colour schemes and the fully equipped units leave guests
wanting for nothing in terms of high quality modern living. |
| Significantly, since we first opened at Easter 2000 some 60
to 65% of our guests are return guests or have been recommended by previous
guests. |
